Job summary

Friends of the Children Portland seeks an extraordinary Executive Director to lead our largest and founding chapter toward the next level of impact. The role requires fierce commitment to equity, ensuring every aspect of our mission engages communities affected by our work.

With a new five-year strategic plan, the Executive Director will steer annual planning, prioritize critical areas, and sharpen program focus while driving sustainability and high-quality youth services across the Portland

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business, public administration, nonprofit management, or closely related field.
• Ten years’ experience in nonprofit or similar management in progressively responsible roles.
• Exceptional experience as a fundraiser with success across all markets and proven ability to cultivate relationships at all levels.

Responsibilities

• Lead Friends of the Children Portland to the next level, focusing on equity and mission execution.
• Drive annual planning, align with the five-year strategic plan, and maintain program focus.
• Ensure organizational effectiveness, sustainability, and high-quality services for youth and families.
• Lead fundraising efforts and secure long-term financial support for sustainability.
• Build strong Board relationships and collaborate with the National CEO and staff.
