Overview

A non-profit social service agency working with the homeless population is seeking an Executive Director. The Executive Director will lead the organization's operations and programs and manage within established plans and budgets. The Executive Director assigns responsibilities to both employees and volunteers, thereby facilitating the achievement of the business's strategic goals.

The Executive Director will work with the Board to set the organization's vision and strategy, create the annual business plan and budget, and lead staff and volunteers to achieve the non-profit organization's goals and objectives.

Duties

Duties:

  • Oversees the organization's budget and financial planning, ensures compliance with financial and grant regulations, and monitors performance against the annual budget with a goal of surpassing it by at least 5%.
  • Overseeing the development and implementation of programs to fulfill the organization's mission.
  • Maintain legal and regulatory compliance (e.g., IRS filings, nonprofit status).
  • Represent the organization at community events, public forums, and in the media.
  • Lead fundraising strategies and campaigns, including major gifts, grants, sponsorships, and events.
  • Lead the organization in achieving its goals, ensuring programs and services are effective and impactful.
  • Working closely with the board of directors, providing them with information, and ensuring effective governance.
  • Provide leadership for donor acquisition, engagement, and retention initiatives across the organization.
  • Collaborate with the Board of Directors to enhance the Mission, Vision, Values, and Strategic Plan.
  • Develop a comprehensive business plan that aligns with the organization’s Mission, Vision, Values, and Strategic Plan.
  • Coordinate the recruitment and training of staff and volunteers to ensure effective operations and program delivery.
  • Manage marketing, PR campaigns, and website to promote the organization and facilitate online donations.
  • Other duties as assigned
Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing or a related field.
  • Website design skills or background preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for interacting with diverse audiences (board members, staff, donors, community members, etc.).
  • Ability to inspire, motivate, and guide staff, volunteers, and stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in budgeting, financial reporting, and overseeing the organization's financial health.
  • Experience in developing and executing fundraising strategies, cultivating donor relationships, and securing financial support.
  • Capacity to identify problems, analyze situations, and develop effective solutions.
  • Experience in developing and executing marketing and fundraising strategies, including digital marketing, social media, and donor relations.
  • Years of experience in senior management roles, preferably within the nonprofit sector, are essential.
