Job summary

Sound Transit seeks an Executive Project Director for the Series 3 Light Rail Vehicle Program. This role provides executive leadership, strategic direction, and overall accountability for procurement, design review, manufacturing oversight, testing, commissioning, acceptance, operational readiness, and integration into the regional light rail network.

The position leads all phases of the Series 3 program, manages budgets and schedules, drives risk mitigation, ensures safety and quality, and

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a engineering or related field and ten years in rail/large capital programs.
• Leadership and budget management experience required.
• Experience with procurement, design review, and vehicle integration preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide executive leadership and accountability for the Series 3 LRV program.
• Direct all phases including procurement, design, testing, and revenue service integration.
• Develop strategies for fleet expansion, reliability, and lifecycle management.
• Maintain executive-level relationships with manufacturers, regulators, and stakeholders.
• Oversee contract administration, supplier performance, and acceptance processes.
