Job summary

The New Mexico Behavioral Health Institute (NMBHI) within the New Mexico Department of Health seeks an experienced leader to oversee operations of a residential detox and substance use treatment facility. You will ensure high-quality care, regulatory compliance, and strong clinical alignment across divisions.

You will supervise a team of about 30 staff, maintain trauma-informed practice, and collaborate with licensing bodies and accreditation surveys.

Qualifications

• Master's Degree in Social Services, Hospital Administration, or related field.
• Experience with substance use treatment across multiple ASAM levels.
• Experience with licensing and Joint Commission surveys and accreditation.
• Experience supervising and managing large teams.
• Experience operating and managing 24-hour facilities.
• Dynamic leader who can provide support to a team of approximately 30 staff members.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all operations of a residential detox and substance use treatment facility.
• Ensure a trauma-informed and evidence-based model of care.
• Monitor and ensure compliance with financial goals and budgets.
• Participate in key leadership activities across NMBHI.
• Ensure compliance with licensing and Joint Commission standards.
