Job summary

Mercy is seeking an Executive Director Quality and Safety to provide operational oversight of clinical quality programs aligned with CMS and payer value-based initiatives. The role will lead a team of improvement professionals, coordinate cross-functional initiatives, and drive outcomes across the care continuum.

Ideal candidates will have 10+ years in healthcare management, advanced degree, and strong skills in quality improvement, data analytics, and stakeholder collaboration.

Qualifications

• Minimum of ten (10) years of direct healthcare management experience
• Strong understanding of clinical quality measures (e.g., HEDIS) and CMS/commercial programs
• Ability to build relationships across departments and lead enterprise-wide initiatives
• Superior written and verbal communication skills and analytical/problem-solving ability
• Experience applying health IT solutions to clinical/operational settings
• Strong project organization and delivery management to align multiple teams on a timeline

Responsibilities

• Provide operational oversight for clinical quality program deliverables required by national clinical quality programs, CMS, and payors
• Direct, oversee, plan, coordinate and evaluate a comprehensive approach to improve clinical outcomes and minimize patient harm
• Oversee Mercy-wide quality areas such as infection prevention, patient safety, and clinical improvement
• Translate CMS and payer program requirements into actionable strategies and metrics
• Lead a team of improvement professionals and drive top performance across the care continuum
• Travel to Mercy facilities as needed to support initiatives
