Job summary

The University of Miami seeks an accomplished compensation executive to serve as Associate Vice President, Physician & Faculty Compensation. This senior leader will design, govern, and align compensation programs across UHealth and the Miller School of Medicine, driving strategy, funds flow, FMV, and regulatory compliance.

The role partners with executive leadership to recruit, retain, and develop physician and faculty talent, while ensuring financial sustainability and academic mission support

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Healthcare Administration, or related field required.
• Minimum ten (10) years of leadership experience in physician and/or faculty compensation within an academic medical center, health system, medical school, faculty practice plan, or similarly complex organization.
• Demonstrated executive leadership responsibility for physician compensation strategy, governance, and program design.
• Significant experience developing compensation models that incorporate productivity, quality, research, education, leadership, and strategic performance metrics.
• Experience advising executive leadership, governing boards, compensation committees, physician leaders, and academic leadership.
• Demonstrated success leading enterprise-wide transformation initiatives and managing highly sensitive and confidential compensation matters.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the University's senior strategic advisor on physician and faculty compensation across UHealth and the Miller School of Medicine.
• Develop and evolve a comprehensive compensation philosophy, strategy, and governance framework.
• Establish and oversee compensation models and methodologies balancing productivity, quality, education, and research.
• Provide executive leadership for compensation-related strategic initiatives including mergers, affiliations, and service line development.
• Lead the design and improvement of funds flow strategies and financial alignment across enterprise.
• Partner with senior leadership to align compensation with organizational performance and workforce planning.
• Establish enterprise governance processes for compensation and ensure compliance.
