Job summary

UC San Diego Health, a leading academic medical center, seeks a Senior Director of Perioperative Services at Jacobs Medical Center. You will provide executive leadership over perioperative operations, aligning strategy with day-to-day performance and leading a large, multidisciplinary team to achieve strategic and operational excellence.

The role requires extensive nursing leadership experience, robust operational acumen, and a strong commitment to quality, safety, and regulatory compliance

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Nursing and California RN license.
• 10+ years healthcare leadership in perioperative, surgical, or complex acute-care operations.
• Advanced knowledge of hospital operations across multiple facilities.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to promote shared governance.
• Ability to develop nurse leaders in a governance model.
• Experience leading large, cross-disciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Provide executive oversight for perioperative operations, ensuring safe, efficient, patient-centered care.
• Translate strategy into operational priorities, goals, and implementation plans.
• Lead Directors, Managers, and other operational leaders to foster accountability and excellence.
• Oversee operating and capital budgets and ensure resource stewardship.
• Improve OR utilization, capacity management, and growth initiatives.
• Ensure regulatory compliance, quality and patient safety across departments.
• Represent Perioperative Services in executive committees and strategic planning.
