Horizon Health in Pinehurst, NC seeks an Executive Director of Behavioral Health (Nursing) to oversee the 28-bed adult/dual diagnosis unit at First Health Moore Regional Health. The role requires strategic planning, program administration, and strong clinical leadership to align with Horizon and hospital objectives.

The position emphasizes staff development, policy execution, regulatory compliance, and collaboration with hospital leadership to maintain high-quality care and program success.

Qualifications

• Active RN licensure in North Carolina.
• Master’s degree required if not in nursing field.
• CPR Certification required.
• Minimum 5 years of healthcare leadership experience.
• Experience in an acute care mental health setting is required.

Responsibilities

• Acts as liaison between Program, Hospital and Horizon; communicates information and needs.
• Provides leadership and direction consistent with Hospital guidelines.
• Delivers clinical supervision for Program nursing, counseling, patient support and admin staff.
• Develops and updates all Program policies and procedures in coordination with VP, Clinical Practice.
• Ensures the Program complies with federal, state, local and accrediting standards.
• Oversees patient care and reporting of symptoms, reactions, and progress.
• Develops audits for staff training and documentation quality.
• Recruits and hires qualified staff for the Program.
• Supports staff development through individualized training plans and participation in programs.

EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR OF BEHAVIORAL HEALTH (Nursing/Registered Nurse)- Pinehurst, NC

Horizon Health is seeking an Executive Director of Behavioral Health (Nursing) to oversee the Behavioral Health Program at First Health Moore Regional Health in Pinehurst, NC. This unit is a 28 bed adult/ dual diagnosis program. Included in these responsibilities are: 1) the development and maintenance of a high-quality treatment program; 2) the development and implementation of a comprehensive community relations program; and 3) strategic planning, program administration, and development.

Responsibilities

• Performs as liaison between Program, Hospital and Horizon; communicating information and needs appropriately
• Supports Hospital and Horizon missions, goals and objectives
• Provides leadership and direction in accordance with Hospital guidelines
• Provides clinical supervision for Program nursing, counseling, patient support and administrative staff
• Develops, in coordination with assigned VP, Clinical Practice, implements and updates all policies and procedures for the Program
• In coordination with the Hospital, ensures the Program meets and maintains all federal, state, local and accrediting bodies’ regulations and standards
• Participates in assessing and reassessing the program needs of the patient
• Supervises all patient care and sets guidelines for accurately reporting and recording of patient symptoms, reactions, and progress
• Develops processes to audit and coordinate ongoing education to ensure all staff are trained on proper documentation of all aspects of the patient’s care
• Recruits, interviews, and selects qualified staff for the Program.
• Provides for professional growth and development of staff through identification of needs, development of individual training plans and participation in training programs
