Job summary

Bristol Myers Squibb seeks an Executive Director of Medical Communications & Digital Excellence to lead a unified, high-performing team, integrating Medical Communications Excellence with Medical Digital Engagement across traditional and digital channels.

The leader will advance scientific storytelling, align TA narratives, and drive omni-channel engagement, measurement, and digital innovation. This pivotal role requires strategic oversight, regulatory acumen, and global collaboration.

Qualifications

• Advanced degree in life sciences or related field.
• 10+ years in pharma/biotech with 5+ years in medical communications & digital engagement.
• Expertise in scientific narrative development and omni-channel communication.
• Knowledge of publications, medical education, and digital engagement in pharma.
• Experience leading global, cross-functional teams and influencing senior stakeholders.
• Willingness to travel up to 15% domestically and internationally.

Responsibilities

• Reports to the Vice President, Head of Medical Excellence and serves on the Medical Excellence Leadership Team.
• Leads integration of Medical Communications Excellence and Medical Digital Engagement into a single, high-performing team.
• Serves as enterprise center of excellence and advisor to TA-embedded leads for scientific narratives across assets.
• Establishes enterprise standards and best practices for scientific narrative development.
• Drives pull-through of TA strategies into integrated digital channel execution and analytics.
• Develops unified strategy for medical communications and digital engagement with customer insights.
• Oversees end-to-end strategies for external medical communications, publications, and content across TAs.
• Leads evolution of digital, AI, and technology strategy for omni-channel engagement.
• Drives innovation in medical communications using AI, digital tools, and data analytics.
• Defines measurement framework and KPIs to demonstrate impact on Medical Affairs outcomes.
• Optimizes resources and budget for future capabilities and efficiency.
• Builds and develops a high-performing, inclusive team.
