Job summary

AEP is seeking a Major Project Director to lead a $1B+ generation project, directing all PM functions with accountability for safety, schedule, cost, and stakeholder alignment. This on-site role requires deep experience in large-scale energy projects and a proven ability to manage EPC contractors or third-party resources.

You will build and guide a project team, communicate with regulators, utilities, landowners, and suppliers, and ensure delivery on time and within budget while maintaining Zero

Qualifications

• Experience leading large-scale capital projects (>$1B) in the energy sector.
• Proven ability to manage safety, schedule, cost, and regulatory requirements.
• Experience with EPC contracts and third-party vendors.
• Strong stakeholder engagement with regulators, utilities, and customers.

Responsibilities

• Direct and oversee all project management functions for a major generation project.
• Implement and oversee project safety program and Zero Harm goals.
• Develop and report on project strategy, budget, schedule, and commercial needs.
• Negotiate contracts for EPC and engineering services.
• Lead integrated schedule across multiple workstreams and manage project budget.
• Mentor a high-performing project leadership team and manage stakeholder relationships.
