Job summary

American Electric Power (AEP) is seeking a Major Projects Director to develop, direct, guide, and execute all project management functions for a major generation project with budgets exceeding $1 billion. You will be the single accountable leader for safety, schedule, cost, and stakeholder alignment, including regulatory and commercial considerations, and you will oversee internal and external teams.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, Project Management, Accounting, Finance, or related field with ten (10) years of qualified experience.
PMP certification required.
Valid state driver’s license.

Responsibilities

Own overall project execution including directing, guiding, and overseeing project management functions to successfully complete assigned project.
Implement and oversee project safety program, monitor performance and address issues to achieve Zero Harm.
Responsible for reporting on project strategy and team needs to Generation Executive leadership, including siting, regulatory, procurement, engineering, and budgetary requirements.
Establish project commercial contracting strategy and negotiate contractor, EPC, and engineering agreements.
