Job summary

American Electric Power is seeking a Major Project Director to lead all project management functions for a major generation initiative with budgets exceeding $1 billion. You will be the sole accountable leader for safety, schedule, cost, and stakeholder alignment, guiding a team of professionals and potentially overseeing EPC contractors on site for the duration of the project.

Experience delivering multi-component generation projects with complex regulatory interfaces.

Responsibilities

Own overall project execution and direct project management functions.
Implement and oversee project safety programs to achieve Zero Harm.
Negotiate contractor, EPC, and engineering agreements.
Drive integrated schedules across all workstreams; manage budget and contingency.
Develop and report on project strategy, including regulatory and procurement needs.
Lead change management and mitigate project risks.
Mentor and lead a cohesive project leadership team.
Manage stakeholder relationships with utilities, regulators, landowners, and contractors.
Ensure readiness for regulatory filings and hearings.
