Temple B’nai Or in Morristown, NJ seeks an Executive Director to serve as the chief administrative and operational leader. The ED partners with clergy and lay leaders to support a thriving congregational community and to execute the board's strategic priorities with financial stewardship and staff oversight.

The role requires seasoned leadership, sound judgment, and disciplined management to balance multiple priorities while maintaining a culture of professionalism and accountability.

Qualifications

• Senior management experience with a record of building effective teams and leading through change.
• Budgeting, financial oversight, risk management, and regulatory compliance experience.
• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication with diverse stakeholders.
• Strong planning, prioritization, and execution skills across multiple workstreams.
• Experience with organizational systems (CRM/membership, financial software, IT basics).
• Understanding and respect for Reform Jewish values and congregational dynamics.
• Ability to translate board vision into operational plans and scalable systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day administration aligned with the Board's strategic goals.
• Advise the Board on operations, risk, staffing, finance, and facilities.
• Implement policies and processes to boost efficiency and accountability.
• Oversee senior staff meetings and cross-functional coordination.
