Job summary

Merck is seeking an Executive IT Operations and Portfolio Lead reporting to the CIDO. You will steer enterprise IT portfolio governance, demand planning, and performance metrics, ensuring value realization and frictionless IT/digital execution, aligned to business strategy.

You will lead cross-functional teams, drive cost optimization, and present strategic updates to senior stakeholders, including CIDO, board committees, and divisional presidents.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business administration, accounting, information systems, finance, operations management, or related field; MBA/MS preferred.
• 15+ years of progressive leadership experience spanning IT strategy, IT operations, portfolio management, FinOps, or management consulting.

Responsibilities

• Govern the global technology investment portfolio with phase-gating and rigorous business case validation.
• Plan demand and capacity to balance divisional demand with delivery capacity.
• Track post-implementation value and ROI for major initiatives; report to executives.
• Manage portfolio risks, dependencies, budgets, and mitigation playbooks.
