Job summary

Johns Hopkins University seeks an executive director to oversee the Graduate Student Intellectual Diversity Initiative (GSIDI), a joint program with the Krieger School of Arts and Sciences and the School of Government and Policy.

The role advances intellectual pluralism by mentoring prospective graduate students, coordinating mentors across top PhD programs, and expanding to new disciplines starting Spring 2027.

Qualifications

• Experience in academia and organizational leadership.
• An MA or PhD is desired.
• Pay will be commensurate with experience; starting salary range of $100,000 - $125,000 annually.

Responsibilities

• Shape the initiative’s ongoing growth and long-term vision with GSIDI co-directors.
• Oversee the implementation of the initiative’s strategic direction, expanding student reach and disciplines, and growing a faculty mentorship network.
• Manage GSIDI program operations: communication with senior faculty mentors, outreach to prospective participants, mailing lists, and event organization.
• Mentor young people considering an academic career; organize matching with faculty mentors; track progress in applications.
• Develop strategic partnerships with pipeline universities and organizations; conduct research or public-facing writing related to GSIDI.
