Job summary

Spencer Ogden seeks an Executive Commercial Development lead to design and execute the commercial strategy for powered land and data center opportunities. You will structure and close complex agreements, manage relationships, and drive transactions from origination to closing.

The role requires experience in energy/utility transactions and working with hyperscale, cloud, AI, or colocation customers, coordinating with legal and advisory partners to maximize asset value while mitigating risk.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in energy or utility transactions.
• Experience negotiating and closing complex commercial agreements.
• Experience with hyperscale, cloud, AI, colocation, utility or infrastructure customers.

Responsibilities

• Lead commercial strategy and execution for powered land and data center development opportunities.
• Structure, negotiate, and execute LOIs, purchase agreements, development agreements, and other contracts.
• Manage the full transaction lifecycle from origination through closing.
• Serve as the primary commercial lead for hyperscale, cloud, AI, and colocation customers.
• Negotiate terms, risk allocation, termination provisions, and contractual obligations.
• Coordinate with internal legal counsel and external advisors to facilitate execution.
• Support M&A, land acquisition, and strategic partnership initiatives as required.
• Develop commercial frameworks that maximize asset value while mitigating risk.
• Build and maintain relationships with utilities, landowners, and strategic partners.
• Lead discussions with counterparties and align objectives with development teams.
