Job summary

American Electric Power in New Albany, OH seeks a Senior Transmission Project Manager to lead large-scale transmission initiatives with budgets from $1B to $10B. You will oversee safety, schedule, cost, regulatory compliance, and stakeholder alignment, directing cross-functional teams and contractors to successful project delivery.

This role requires a Bachelor's degree, 10 years of progressive experience, PMP certification, and the ability to travel up to 50%.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, Project Management, Accounting, Finance or related field.
• Ten years of qualified experience across two or more areas: major construction projects, project management, portfolio management, commissioning, project controls, nuclear or fossil generation, and contract negotiations.
• Progressive levels of responsibility and strong business acumen demonstrated in leadership roles.
• PMP certification required.
• Valid state driver's license required.
• Flexible to travel up to 50% (potential for extended travel or relocation).

Responsibilities

• Own overall project execution and direct project management functions to complete assigned project.
• Implement and oversee project safety program aiming for Zero Harm.
• Report on project strategy to Transmission Executive leadership with actionable solutions.
• Establish project contracting strategy and negotiate EPC and engineering agreements.
• Lead governance with JV partners as required.
• Drive integrated schedules across workstreams and align with resource management.
