Job summary

The Salvation Army Harbor Light Center in San Francisco, CA seeks an Executive Director to oversee finances, programs, staff, operations, transportation, property, and community relations.

This leadership role supervises the six‑month residential treatment program, Recovery Wellness Services, and Harbor House, coordinating contracts, finances, and partnerships while guiding program teams toward service excellence.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in social work or related field.
• 5+ years nonprofit agency director level management experience.
• CA driver’s license.
• First Aid and CPR certification (within first fourteen days).
• Tuberculosis clearance (within first seven days).
• Experience with substance abuse, mental illness, and barriers to self-sufficiency.
• Proficiency with electronic health record systems.
• Ability to work effectively on a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all programs and staff, with supervision of all staff and leadership.
• Coordinate finances with HLC Business Director and DHQ finance team.
• Share and discuss monthly and quarterly financial reports with program directors.
• Approve all invoices and expenditures through the accounts payable system.
• Attend meetings as a Salvation Army representative to civic organizations and groups.
• Attend weekly case conferences and advise each program team as needed.
• Serve on the HLC Participants Resident Council.
• Serve as primary purchasing authority for all programs, ensuring cost efficiency.
