Job summary

The Joy Culture Foundation (TJCF) in Menlo Park, CA, seeks a visionary Chief Executive Officer (CEO) to lead mission delivery and organizational health in a hybrid work setting. The CEO partners with the Board to set vision, grow programs, and sustain community impact through staff and volunteers.

Responsibilities include strategic planning, program excellence, financial stewardship, and building partnerships with schools, libraries, and cultural groups.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of progressive leadership in nonprofits, education, libraries, museums, or startups.
• Inspiring leader, communicator and relationship builder.
• Builder of teams, systems and culture in resource-conscious environments.
• Strategic thinker who executes with discipline and clarity.

Responsibilities

• Lead multi-year strategic planning and annual operating plans aligned with community needs.
• Deliver high-quality programs that advance TJCF’s vision and impact.
• Translate strategy into measurable goals, budgets, timelines, and outcomes.
• Hire, coach, motivate, and retain a small, mission-aligned team.
• Champion a culture of community, kindness and teamwork.
• Develop volunteer leadership pipelines and grow community champions.
• Partner with the Board on strategy, policy, and performance; run board meetings.
• Own annual contributed-revenue goals across major gifts, grants and events.
• Build and manage a major donor pipeline; cultivate and steward top prospects.
• Serve as primary spokesperson; strengthen brand, marketing, and media presence.
• Build partnerships with schools, libraries, and cultural groups.
