Job summary

Ionis Pharmaceuticals, Inc. is seeking an Executive Director of Field Force Effectiveness to shape how our field organization engages patients, providers and stakeholders as our portfolio scales.

You will design field strategies, segmentation, and deployment, and lead cross-functional execution with brand, sales, IT and operations. The role demands strategic thinking, deep analytics, and the ability to influence senior leaders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
• 18+ years in commercial operations or field effectiveness in biotech/pharma.
• Demonstrated ownership of segmentation, targeting, deployment design and incentive plans.
• Proven ability to influence senior leaders and drive strategic go-to-market decisions.
• Strong analytics, data interpretation and storytelling skills.

Responsibilities

• Define and lead Ionis' field engagement model across brands and channels.
• Partner with brand and sales leaders to translate strategy into field plans.
• Direct customer segmentation, targeting and territory design.
• Oversee incentive compensation strategy and account planning.
• Ensure CRM and analytics capabilities are embedded in field workflows.
• Lead budgeting, governance and cross-functional alignment for scaling.
• Provide leadership and mentorship to a high-performing team.
