Job summary

Dow Jones Energy is hiring an Executive Director - Research Excellence to modernize market research processes, lead cross-functional teams, and ensure customer-aligned outputs. You will report to the VP of Research and collaborate with clients, data partners, and product teams.

The role requires deep, long-tenured experience in research, strong data visualization skills with PowerBI/Spotfire/Tableau, and global collaboration across teams. Travel is expected.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of professional work experience across end-to-end research.
• Experience in commodity research shops preferred.
• Experience managing direct reports and skip-level reports.
• Ability to identify core issues and deliver modernized solutions.
• Able to establish trusted relationships with clients and data partners.
• Strong data visualization and tool management skills (PowerBI, Spotfire, Tableau).
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally.
• Education or equivalent experience in technical field.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and modernize market research processes across commodities.
• Upgrade analytical tools and streamline data ingestion workflows.
• Steward decentralized vertical teams for new coverage areas.
• Oversee Voice of the Customer initiative for existing research.
• Serve as liaison between clients, research teams, and product management.
• Own relationships with third-party data suppliers and resolve issues.
• Administer contracts and royalties with high-level third-party partners.
• Contribute to global coverage and analysis across all research verticals.
