Dow Jones Energy is seeking an Executive Director - Research Excellence to lead modernization of market research processes and cross-functional initiatives. You will report to the Vice President of Research and guide decentralized teams toward ambitious coverage across commodities.

You will oversee data workflows, voice of the customer initiatives, and maintain strong relationships with clients and data partners, ensuring research outputs meet market needs.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of professional experience in end-to-end research.
• Experience in commodity research shops preferred.
• Experience managing direct reports and mentoring skip-level reports.
• Ability to identify and articulate core issues and deliver modernized solutions.
• Ability to build trusted relationships with clients and data partners.
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate current market research processes and propose modernization strategies.
• Upgrade analytical tools and streamline data ingestion workflows.
• Steward and guide decentralized, vertical-specific teams to meet milestones.
• Oversee the Voice of the Customer initiative for existing research.
• Ensure research outputs align with customer needs through collaboration with clients, research, and product management.
• Manage relationships with third-party data suppliers and ensure service levels.
• Serve as contact administrator for high-level third-party partners and handle contracts and royalties.
• Contribute to global coverage and analysis across research verticals.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Business Information Systems, Engineering, or Economics -OR- related discipline
