Job summary

Kaweah Health seeks an experienced Director of Emergency and Trauma Services to lead a busy 70+ bed ED with 100,000 visits annually. This role oversees nursing leadership, policy development, and resource management to ensure safe, high-quality patient care in a Level 3 trauma center.

The position requires CA RN licensure, BSN/MSN, and extensive management experience in nursing leadership. Crisis intervention training within 60 days is expected; national certification is preferred.

Qualifications

• CA RN license required.
• BSN or MSN required.
• Five years of management experience in nursing leadership.
• Crisis intervention training within 60 days of hire/transfer.
• National certification in nursing leadership preferred.

Responsibilities

• Directs the delivery of patient care in assigned areas.
• Develops and revises patient care policies and standards.
• Holds direct reports accountable for nursing practice.
• Participates in policy formation and decision making.
• Develops and evaluates plans for care and service.
• Coordinates services with the Kaweah Health plan.
• Ensures continuous improvement of patient care and services.
• Allocates staff resources for patient care.
• Manages financial resources and communications with stakeholders.
• Ensures full integration of the Emergency Department.
