Job summary

Nealy Pierce is recruiting an Executive Director, Emergency Services (RN) to lead emergency care across three hospital campuses with 600+ beds. Onsite Midwest relocation is required, directing a 280 FTE ED/EMS team and reporting to the Market CNO.

The role requires an active RN license, a Master’s degree, and 5+ years in ED leadership, with Level I trauma experience and a track record of improving throughput and building cross-functional relationships.

Qualifications

• Active RN license and Master’s degree required.
• At least five years of ED nursing leadership in acute care.
• Level I trauma emergency experience required; multi-hospital leadership preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to develop leaders and improve ED metrics.
• Visible presence across EDs with strong relationships at all levels.

Nealy Pierce has exclusively partnered with a nonprofit, growing Midwest health system to recruit an Executive Director, Emergency Services (RN) to lead emergency care across three hospital campuses with over 600 combined beds. With approximately 125k annual ED visits and an adult Level I trauma center, this is an opportunity to make a meaningful impact across an entire market. This is an onsite position; relocation to the Midwest is required.

The opportunity:

• Manage a multi-campus emergency services portfolio including the flagship Level I Trauma Center.
• Set direction for EDs with approximately 125k+ patient visits annually.
• Report directly to a collaborative and transformational Market CNO and work directly with emergency physicians and inpatient leadership.
• Manage a team of 280 FTE's across the Emergency Departments, Observation, EMS and Life Flight.
• Mentor a team of five (5) managers with strong resources for team building, education, engagement and retention.

You will have the reach to shape a market and the opportunity to stay visible with the people delivering care.

Qualifications:

• Active RN license and Master’s degree required

• Track record of success in improving key ED metrics including throughput, able to establish positive relationships across all levels
