Job summary

Gwinnett County Public Schools seeks an Executive Director of Foundation and Development to lead the GCPS Foundation's fundraising and strategic philanthropy, aligning gifts with district priorities.

This senior leader will drive annual giving, major gifts, endowment work, grants, and community partnerships while overseeing operations, board relations, donor stewardship, and events across a large urban school system.

Qualifications

• Must hold or be eligible for a valid Georgia Educator's Certificate in Educational Leadership and/or Support Personnel License issued by the Georgia Professional Standards Commission.
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Public Administration, Nonprofit Management, Education, Communications, Marketing, Finance, or a related field required. Master's degree in a related field preferred.
• Minimum of ten (10) years of fundraising/nonprofit leadership experience.
• Experience leading fundraising initiatives, donor engagement, and organizational development.
• Experience working with governing boards, executive leadership teams, and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development, implementation, and evaluation of all fundraising initiatives (annual giving, major gifts, endowment, capital campaigns, planned giving, grants, corporate partnerships, events).
• Develop donor cultivation, solicitation, stewardship, and retention strategies.
• Identify and secure investments from individuals, corporations, foundations, and community organizations.
• Design and manage donor programs for parents, alumni, employees, retirees, and community members.
• Lead grant research, proposal development, and grant procurement.
• Provide strategic counsel and leadership to Foundation Board and Superintendent/CEO.
• Plan and supervise Foundation meetings and reporting; ensure policy compliance.
• Oversee foundation office operations, donor database, gift processing, and financial reporting.
