Job summary

University of Pennsylvania's Penn Nursing seeks a Vice Dean for Development and Alumni Relations to strategize and execute private and corporate fundraising and alumni engagement for the School of Nursing. The role reports to the Dean and AVP of University Development and leads a six-person team, cultivating senior donors and driving fundraising growth.

Lead collaborations with Central DAR, expand the donor pool, and strengthen volunteers and board involvement to advance gift and grant support

Qualifications

  • Master's degree and 7–10 years of successful fundraising experience, with a proven record in securing leadership and major gifts.
  • Strong management and program administration skills to lead a team.
  • Ability to articulate Penn Nursing's mission and engage senior volunteers and donors.
  • Excellent written and oral communication, diplomacy, and collaboration across schools and central DAR.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement multi-year strategic fundraising plans for the School of Nursing.
  • Build and manage a robust donor pipeline including 6–7 figure gifts.
  • Lead and coach the Development and Alumni Relations team of six staff members.
  • Collaborate with Dean, faculty, and boards to expand donor engagement and public awareness.
