Job summary

The Illinois Board of Examiners seeks an Executive Director to serve as the organization’s Chief Administrative Officer, providing strategic, operational, and organizational leadership. This role advances the mission to protect the public by overseeing CPA examination and certification processes, coordinating with education and licensing partners, and reporting to the Board.

The Executive Director guides policy development and ensures compliance with applicable statutes and rules.

Responsibilities

• Oversee organizational activities and procedures.
• Lead strategic planning in partnership with the Board and stakeholders to set long-term priorities and resource alignment.
• Monitor progress toward strategic goals and recommend adjustments as needed.
• Provide analysis and recommendations on public accounting issues related to examination and certification.
• Support policy and rule changes and implement Board-approved qualification requirements according to applicable law and rules.
• Provide leadership and support for rulemaking and interpretation of statutes, rules, and regulations.
