Job summary

The City of Huntsville seeks a Senior Director of Engineering to provide executive oversight of the city's transportation, drainage, and sewer infrastructure, reporting to the Mayor and working with the City Council as required. The ideal candidate will have a Master's Degree in Civil Engineering, Alabama PE registration, and substantial experience in public works administration and supervisory leadership.

Qualifications

• Master's Degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited college or university.
• Experience in administrative and supervisory work in civil engineering or public works administration.
• Registration as a Professional Engineer in the State of Alabama and a valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Lead and integrate efforts of departments planning, designing, constructing, and maintaining city infrastructure.
• Provide executive oversight to City Engineering, Water Pollution Control, and Traffic Engineering departments.
• Collaborate with the Mayor and City Council to respond to information requests.
