Job summary

University of New Hampshire seeks a senior leader for Facilities & Operations to manage the university's 5.5 million square foot portfolio and 555-acre campus. You will provide executive oversight of building operations, maintenance, grounds, and 24/7 service response, directing FCC and IWMS functions.

You will lead approximately 140 staff, oversee a $22 million annual budget, and coordinate contracts, safety systems, and fleet management to support research, instruction, and campus life.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Architecture or related field and 7 years experience or Master’s degree and 5 years experience.
• Minimum 5-7 years of experience in facility operations and maintenance for an institutional owner and administering contracts for facility renovation, alteration and construction or Life Safety contracting.
• Minimum of five years supervisory experience.
• Knowledge of building systems design, operation, and maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Oversee efficient operation and maintenance of the university’s physical plant including building operations, maintenance and repair, grounds and event support, and 24/7 customer response.
• Direct IWMS usage to capture assets and manage preventative maintenance tasks and frequencies.
• Balance in-house staff and contracted services to ensure best value; manage contracts, QA, reports, and vendor performance.
• Direct and procure facilities service contracts including housekeeping and fire safety systems to meet university requirements and codes.
• Lead contract selection, negotiation, and performance management for best value; oversee QC/QA processes.
