Job summary

Mississippi Society of Association Executives is seeking an Executive Director to serve as the chief executive and operational leader, partnering with the Board of Directors to advance the organization’s mission and strengthen member value. The role requires strategic leadership across governance, programs, finance, and communications, with demonstrated success in nonprofit or association management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• At least five years of progressively responsible professional experience, preferably in association or nonprofit management.
• Experience with nonprofit management, membership organizations, board relations, communications, or public relations preferred.
• Professional experience with association management, membership development, event and program oversight, sponsorship development, and non-dues revenue generation preferred.
• CAE credential preferred but not required.
• Must reside in Mississippi.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the chief executive and operational leader of the Mississippi Society of Association Executives.
• Work with the Board of Directors to advance the organization’s mission and member value.
• Provide strategic and operational leadership across governance, growth, programs, and finances.
• Oversee engagement, communications, and external relations to promote visibility and impact.
• Collaborate with staff, volunteers, and partners to implement Board-approved priorities.
