Job summary

AgeBetter Inc. in Madison, WI seeks an Executive Director to lead the organization and its programs, including SAIL and Safe at Home.

The ED will oversee membership, outreach, fundraising, operations, and board engagement, while ensuring program quality and impact for older adults in Dane County. The role requires strong leadership, relationship-building, and grant-writing skills, with experience managing a small staff and collaborating with local and national partners.

Qualifications

• Minimum BA/BS with five to seven years in senior nonprofit management.
• Significant fundraising, donor relations and grant-writing experience.
• Budgeting and financial management for nonprofits.
• Experience serving older adults and aging services is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and strategic direction for AgeBetter and its programs.
• Oversee membership recruitment, outreach, fundraising, and program development.
• Develop and monitor operating plans with the Board of Directors.
• Recruit and manage staff; supervise volunteers supporting SAIL and Safe at Home.
• Build partnerships, secure donations/grants, and cultivate funding sources.
• Represent the organization publicly and manage communications and branding.
• Ensure compliance, accurate records, and effective program evaluation.
• Oversee budgeting, financial reporting, and resource utilization.
• Collaborate on policy development with the Board and stakeholders.
• Lead marketing initiatives and donor solicitation strategies.
• Monitor program outcomes and report to funders and constituents.
