The Human Anatomy and Physiology Society (HAPS) seeks an Executive Director to lead the organization as CEO, advancing mission, priorities, and member value in a part-time role.
This remote position requires travel for the Annual Conference and approved events; 15-20 hours weekly with potential increases during conferences. Compensation is to be determined.
You will collaborate with Board, Steering Committee, and AMC to grow partnerships, revenue, and professional development opportunities.

As a member-driven organization, HAPS relies on the dedication of its volunteer leaders, committees, and professional partners to achieve its mission. The Executive Director plays a central leadership role in bringing these efforts together—working collaboratively with the Board of Directors, Steering Committee, an association management company, other volunteer leaders, and external partners.
The Executive Director serves as the chief executive officer of the Human Anatomy and Physiology Society (HAPS) and is responsible for advancing the Society's mission, strategic priorities, organizational sustainability, and member value. Working in partnership with the Board of Directors, volunteer leaders, and association management company (AMC), the Executive Director provides executive leadership to strengthen HAPS as the premier professional association for anatomy and physiology educators.
The Executive Director leads through collaboration, influence, and strategic coordination. While the association management company provides day-to-day association management and administrative support, the Executive Director provides overall organizational leadership, advances strategic priorities, strengthens membership and financial sustainability, develops partnerships and revenue opportunities, and serves as a connector among the Board, Steering Committee, volunteer leaders, and the AMC. The Executive Director serves as the Board's chief executive advisor and an ambassador for the Society.

Collaborate with the Board and volunteer leaders to implement strategic priorities, establish measurable outcomes, and regularly assess organizational performance. Identify opportunities for innovation, growth, and sustainability while ensuring programs, initiatives, and resources remain aligned with the Society's mission and evolving member needs.
Develop and implement marketing and communication strategies that enhance awareness of HAPS, strengthen the Society's value proposition, and expand its reach within the anatomy and physiology education community. Collaborate with the AMC and volunteer leaders to promote membership, programs, conferences, educational resources, and revenue-generating initiatives while increasing organizational visibility and engagement.
Serve as the primary ambassador for HAPS by cultivating strategic relationships that enhance the Society's visibility, influence, and impact. Develops partnerships and advancement opportunities that support organizational growth, financial sustainability, and member value.
Partner with the Treasurer and the AMG to support sound financial management, annual budget development, and strategic resource planning. Monitor financial and organizational performance, assess the alignment of resources with strategic priorities, and recommend actions that strengthen the Society's long-term sustainability and operational effectiveness.
Collaborate with the Steering Committee, volunteer leaders, and the AMC to develop, deliver, and continuously improve conferences, educational programs, and professional development opportunities. Support innovation, accessibility, and program excellence while advancing opportunities that strengthen member engagement and educational impact.
Serve as the Board's principal executive advisor by providing timely information, strategic recommendations, and operational insights that support effective decision-making and governance. Facilitate communication and collaboration among the Board, committees, volunteers, and the AMG, and support the implementation of Board decisions, strategic priorities, and organizational policies.
Collaborate with volunteer leaders, committees, and association management company to develop and implement strategies that recruit, engage, and retain members while strengthening HAPS' value proposition and year-round member engagement. Analyze membership trends, support leadership development and volunteer engagement opportunities, and advance initiatives that fosters an inclusive and welcoming community.
