Job description

The client is seeking an inaugural Executive Director based in Louisville, KY. Reporting to the Board of Directors, the Executive Director will lead the organization in advancing a resident-led vision focused on expanding wealth and opportunity for Black residents, families, and businesses in Louisville’s historic Russell neighborhood, with an emphasis on preserving the community’s cultural legacy and supporting long-term community ownership.

The Executive Director will translate the organization’s mission into practical strategies by connecting and organizing resources that expand pathways to homeownership, strengthen Black-owned businesses, support resident leadership, and promote opportunities for community ownership and durable wealth building. The role will also guide efforts related to affordable homeownership and community-led real estate development, building organizational capacity and foundations to support ongoing neighborhood impact.

The position is expected to operate with strong leadership and relationship-building capabilities to grow resources, partnerships, and internal systems in support of the organization’s next chapter. The Executive Director will provide direction for executing the resident-led model and ensuring development approaches align with preserving the neighborhood and enabling meaningful resident involvement in shaping and owning the future of Russell.
