Job summary

Primrose Retirement Communities in Wisconsin is seeking an Executive Director to provide overall leadership and operational oversight for our Wausau community. You will guide daily operations, ensure exceptional resident experiences, financial stewardship, and regulatory compliance.

The role requires strong leadership, budget management, and collaboration with residents, families, and staff to uphold Primrose’s mission and values and to drive a thriving, well-regarded senior living community.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, gerontology, business, or related field preferred.
• 3+ years of leadership in senior living, healthcare, or related industry.
• Proven ability to lead teams and manage community operations.
• Knowledge of federal, state, and local regulations for assisted living and memory care.

In this role, you'll lead community operations while ensuring exceptional resident experiences, quality care and services, financial stewardship, regulatory compliance, and team development. You'll partner with residents, families, and team members to create a welcoming environment where people feel valued, supported, and empowered to thrive. Through strong leadership and a commitment to the Primrose Mission and Core Values, you'll help drive the success of the community while making a meaningful impact in the lives of seniors every day.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated success leading teams and managing community operations.
• Knowledge of federal, state, and local regulations related to assisted living and memory care.
• Meets or has the ability to meet applicable state requirements for Assisted Living Executive Directors.
• Experience managing budgets, financial performance, and operational goals.
• Strong leadership, communication, relationship-building, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities, maintain regulatory compliance, and respond to urgent community needs as necessary.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and the ability to learn and effectively use electronic health records, scheduling, payroll, and other business software systems.
