Job summary

Healthcare Services Group, Inc. seeks a Food Service Director to lead the dining department at a long-term care facility. You will oversee food quality, safety, inventory, and staff, aligning with menus and regulations.

The role requires strong communication, leadership, and a hands-on approach to ensure excellent resident dining experiences and compliance with policies. Residency in the service area is required.

Qualifications

• Minimum associate degree in food service management or hospitality, with coursework in food service/restaurant management preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills required.
• Must be able to lift/carry up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods.
• Residency within the service area is required.
• Must obtain Food Protection Manager (FPM) within 14 days and FSM/LTC-FSM within 60 days where applicable.
• COVID-19 vaccination policy compliance may be required.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support the food service team to meet quality and safety standards.
• Maintain records of income, expenditures, inventories, and staff using HCSG software.
• Conduct staff training, quality control, and in-service sessions; perform roles of dietary aide, cook, and dishwasher as needed.
• Communicate directives from client managers and administrators to staff effectively.
• Ensure compliance with infection control, safety procedures, and sanitary standards.
• Maintain consistent attendance and timely task completion.
• Represent HCSG positively in interactions with supervisors, staff, residents, and guests.
• All other duties as assigned.
