Job summary

The City of New York Department of Correction seeks a Deputy Commissioner of Investigations & Intelligence to lead the Investigations Division, EISS, and CIB. You will shape investigative strategy, supervise staff, and ensure compliance with the Nunez Consent Judgment and federal monitoring.

You will partner with the NYC Department of Investigation, manage case workflows, and drive reform initiatives while maintaining safety and integrity across DOC facilities.

Qualifications

• Master’s or higher in Public Administration or related field plus five years of managerial/administrative experience.
• Bachelor’s degree with seven years of related experience, including supervisory roles.
• High school diploma and 11 years of progressively responsible experience in investigations/administrative leadership.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Investigations Division, EISS, and CIB, setting strategic direction and ensuring accountability.
• Collaborate with the NYC Department of Investigation and Federal monitors to maintain compliance and drive reform initiatives.
