Job summary

The New York City Department of Correction seeks Supervising Investigators for the Investigation Division. The role involves directing confidential and complex investigations into Use of Force incidents, coordinating with other agencies, and preparing formal reports for administrative action.

Ideal candidates will have strong supervisory experience, excellent communication and analytical skills, and proficiency with MS Office.

Qualifications

• A four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent and four years of satisfactory full-time experience in investigation, correction administration, or related fields.
• A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college; or Education and/or experience equivalent to the above.

Responsibilities

• Supervise a team of investigators engaged in confidential, highly complex investigations.
• Oversee investigations concerning Use of Force incidents.
• Liaise with other law enforcement and District Attorneys’ offices.
• Prepare, review, evaluate, and act on reports and recommendations.
• Coordinate with federal, state, and city agencies and testify at hearings and court proceedings.
