Job summary

Associated Bank is seeking a Corporate & Commercial Banking Portfolio Manager Lead in Omaha, NE. The role directs underwriting, structuring, and credit approval for mid-market and commercial portfolios, while developing a team of junior portfolio managers and analysts.

You will ensure policy-aligned decisions and coordinate with Business Development Officers, Relationship Managers, and Credit Administration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting or related field.
• 5+ years of commercial banking or credit underwriting experience.
• 3+ years of asset-based lending experience or demonstrated experience with transactions and collateral structures.
• 5+ years of presenting credit recommendations to approval authorities or credit committees.
• Experience leading or mentoring junior credit professionals is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead underwriting for new credit facilities and renewals, including financial statement analysis, cash flow modeling, and collateral evaluation.
• Review, approve, and/or elevate underwriting packages to the appropriate authorities.
• Ensure underwriting compliance with credit policy and regulatory expectations.
• Manage and develop a team of entry level portfolio managers and credit analysts.
• Partner with Relationship Managers and other partners to support deal execution from origination through approval and monitoring.
