Job summary

State of New Hampshire Hospital is seeking a Chief Operating Officer to provide enterprise-wide operational leadership for the Inpatient Mental Health system, including New Hampshire Hospital and Glencliff Home. The COO partners with the CEO to execute strategic direction, improve operational excellence, and ensure readiness for regulatory and safety demands.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from a recognized college or university is required.
• Master’s degree in healthcare administration, public health, business administration, or related field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides executive oversight and accountability for core NHH operational domains including facility operations, life safety, emergency management, administrative support services, and security services.
• Directs IMH operational functions to ensure compliance, safety, and continuity of care.
• Represents the CEO in enterprise-level matters and leads strategic operational planning and future-state development.
• Oversees development and monitoring of IMH system initiatives and ensures alignment with organizational goals.
• Coordinates security operations and serves as liaison with state safety partners for ongoing safety.
• Participates in executive leadership as a member of the NHH Executive Team and guides cross-departmental collaboration.
• Supports contract development, oversight, and evaluation of operational initiatives with the CFO and DHHS procurement.
• Upholds policies, employee training, risk management, and continuous quality improvement.
