Job summary

Sandy Hook Promise is seeking a Director of Executive Communications and Marketing to elevate the organization’s voice, visibility, and influence. You will shape executive messaging and lead thought leadership initiatives across channels to advance our mission.

Working with the Head of Communications and cross‑functional teams, you will translate complex policy and program priorities into compelling narratives, drive executive engagement, and measure impact through clear metrics.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations or related field or equivalent professional experience.
• 8+ years of progressive experience in executive communications, PR, marketing, or thought leadership.
• Proven success developing executive visibility and strategic storytelling.

Responsibilities

• Lead executive communications, thought leadership, and visibility strategy for organizational leaders.
• Identify high‑impact speaking, media, and stakeholder opportunities to expand influence.
• Develop messaging, speeches, presentations, and briefing materials for executives.
• Plan and execute executive engagement opportunities with cross‑functional alignment.
• Collaborate with Communications, Marketing, Development, Programs, and Policy teams on consistency and impact.
• Establish metrics to evaluate the effectiveness of thought leadership initiatives.
• Build relationships with external partners, media, and industry stakeholders.
