Job summary

Oakland University in Rochester, MI seeks a Communications Manager to support executive communications across remarks, scripts, presentations and social media. Reporting to the Director of Presidential Communications, you will research, draft, edit, coordinate, and manage content for leaders, ensuring clarity and brand alignment.

The role requires exceptional writing, digital fluency, and project management in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, English, PR, marketing, or related field.
• At least two years of focused experience in communications, marketing, or related field with writing and digital channel work.
• Excellent written communication across formats: remarks, messaging, social media, newsletters.
• Ability to adapt voice, accept feedback, and seek clarification when needed.
• Strong organization, detail orientation, and ability to manage multiple deadlines.
• Digital fluency with websites, social media, email newsletters.
• Ability to coordinate projects with multiple contributors and approvals.
• Professional judgment and discretion with sensitive information.
• Ability to work collaboratively across teams.

Responsibilities

• Support day-to-day execution of presidential and executive communications.
