Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent with 4+ years of experience.
• Bachelor's Degree in English, Journalism, Communications or related field with 3+ years of professional writing experience.
• Exceptional writer able to craft spoken, written and digital media content.
• Strong project management and time management skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools and Adobe Suite; familiarity with Box/SharePoint.
• Ability to research, gather and organize information from diverse sources.
• Strong interpersonal skills and attention to detail; receptive to feedback.

Responsibilities

• Write polished executive communications for the Chancellor and leadership.
• Develop speeches, scripts, talking points, newsletters and memos.
• Collaborate with communications team to ensure voice and messaging consistency.
• Edit materials to meet AP/UMKC style and quality standards.
• Analyze impact of communications and refine strategies as needed.
