Job summary

Cohere is seeking a Senior Manager, Executive Communications to build and scale the company’s executive communications function. You will partner with C-Suite leaders and cross‑functional teams to craft strategic narratives, drive messaging across stages and channels, and lead a small team of writers and vendors.

You will shape communications for governments, customers, partners, and investors, guiding crisis readiness and ensuring consistent storytelling across internal and external channels.

Qualifications

• 10–12 years managing executive communications in fast‑paced tech/AI environments
• 3+ years leading a team
• Exceptional writing and storytelling for diverse audiences

Responsibilities

• Refine and lead Cohere's executive communications strategy for opportunities and high‑stakes stages
• Develop and execute corporate communications across internal/external audiences
• Drive content across speaking engagements, op-eds, podcasts, and executive social media
• Build and mentor a small team (speechwriter + external vendor)
• Lead rapid response capabilities for executive communications
• Oversee executive forums, industry conferences, customer events, and leadership meetings
• Elevate executive thought leadership and tie daily work to Cohere's mission
• Use data and audience insights to tailor messages for employees, customers, partners, investors, and influencers
• Support crisis and issues communications with legal and other teams
• Serve as central hub aligning internal and external messaging across touchpoints
