Job summary

Independence Blue Cross is seeking an Executive Communications Manager to craft high-impact communications for senior leaders, including board members and external audiences. Qualifications

• Four-year degree in journalism, communications or related major is required; advanced degree preferred.
• Eight or more years of experience in board or executive communications.
• Exceptional writing, editing and presentation-development skills.
• Experience supporting senior executives and highly visible leadership communications.
• Ability to synthesize complex information and craft compelling narratives for diverse audiences.
• Strong project management, collaboration and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with professionalism.

Responsibilities

• Develop, write and edit board communications, executive summaries, presentations and briefing materials.
• Write monthly board reports and quarterly presentations for board committees.
• Collaborate with Strategy, Finance, Legal, Risk and leaders to clarify complex topics for board audiences.
• Translate business and regulatory information into concise narratives for executives.
• Research and edit speeches and scripts for the CEO across the enterprise.
• Identify regional, national and international speaking venues to amplify messages.
• Support executive visibility planning and align with overall communications strategy.
• Monitor national media and industry trends to inform messaging and data storytelling.
• Staff the CEO at events and debrief to identify process improvements.
• Ensure consistent messaging across communications channels and platforms.
