Job summary

Castaway Burbank is seeking an Executive Chef to lead our kitchen and deliver upscale, high‑volume dining experiences. You will mentor Sous Chefs, manage food costs, and drive culinary innovation while upholding exacting standards.

You will oversee purchasing, inventory, budgeting, and event catering for private gatherings. The role requires strong leadership, exceptional organization, and a passion for hospitality excellence in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years as an Executive Chef in upscale, high-volume venues with at least $15M in annual revenue.
• 5+ years of progressive BOH leadership in a high-volume restaurant or event center.
• Strong culinary skills with a track record of innovative, flavorful dishes.
• Extensive experience managing private events, banquets, and catering operations.
• Ability to manage food costs, inventory, and kitchen budgets to meet financial goals.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
• Knowledge of food safety standards and best practices.
• Culinary degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Directly supervise and evaluate Sous Chefs and culinary leadership.
• Oversee staffing, scheduling, and departmental operations.
• Direct purchasing strategies and inventory management.
• Manage kitchen labor budgets and food costs.
• Ensure sanitation, quality standards, and safety compliance.
• Oversee budgeting, reporting, and administrative kitchen tasks.
