Job summary

Oak View Group is seeking an Executive Chef for the Palm Springs Convention Center to lead the culinary team across all outlets and events, ensuring quality, safety, profitability, and guest satisfaction.

You will hire, train, schedule, and mentor staff, manage food costs, menus, and kitchen operations, and enforce health and sanitation standards. This full-time role requires flexibility for evenings and weekends and offers competitive compensation and benefits.

Qualifications

• 5-7 years of kitchen management experience in a high-volume environment.
• Proven track record of managing costs and profitability.
• Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and staff training.
• Strong leadership, communication, and team-building skills.
• Proficient in computer software for scheduling, inventory, and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Manage, develop, and mentor kitchen staff including hiring, firing, and discipline.
• Ensure event staff are trained and aligned with workplace expectations.
• Monitor food cost controls, inventory, purchasing, and waste reduction.
• Oversee menu development, portions, recipe specifications, and quality standards.
• Coordinate kitchen operations, equipment maintenance, and service readiness.
