Job summary

The Optimist - Nashville is seeking an Executive Chef to lead the entire culinary team, directing day-to-day kitchen operations across production, prep, and events. You will oversee menu changes and educate staff on new dishes, while driving efficiency and guest satisfaction through costed menus and seasonal offerings.

Ten years of progressive culinary experience, including five in senior management, is preferred.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of progressive culinary experience, with at least 5 years in senior management.

Responsibilities

• Leads the culinary team and directs day-to-day kitchen operations including production, prep, special events, and purchasing/receiving.
• Oversees menu changes and education for culinary and service staff; engineers seasonal specials and event menus.
• Directs food production and plating from the pass during service; trains line cooks and costs menus to meet budget targets.
• Fosters an educational environment to develop culinary staff for future advancement.
