Job summary

Morrison Healthcare in Charleston, SC seeks an Executive Chef to lead daily kitchen operations, develop the team, and deliver high-quality meals for patients and hospital staff. You will oversee food quality, production, purchasing, and safety, bringing fresh ideas and strong leadership to the kitchen.

Candidates must live in Charleston area or relocate; relocation assistance is available. This hands-on chef role requires culinary excellence and proven leadership within a high-volume healthcare

Qualifications

• Five+ years of progressive culinary and kitchen management experience
• Hands-on cooking skills and experience leading a culinary team
• Experience in high-volume, complex foodservice operations
• Institutional and batch cooking experience preferred
• Strong knowledge of food production, sanitation, presentation and cost controls
• Relocation assistance is available
• ServSafe certification desirable

Responsibilities

• Lead kitchen operations, ensuring food quality, presentation and service consistency
• Plan regular and modified menus meeting dietary needs and guidelines
• Train and coach staff on cooking techniques, food handling and sanitation
• Manage inventory, purchasing, portion sizes and waste to control costs
• Use production sheets and waste logs to keep the kitchen organized and efficient
• Maintain cleaning and equipment schedules and readiness for inspections
• Partner with foodservice leadership to improve operations and client satisfaction
