Overview

Are you looking for a new opportunity in a fun and creative environment? The Embassy Suites by Hilton Rockford Riverfront is seeking a talented and energetic full-time Executive Chef to join our team. Our hotel team members are passionate about their work and enjoy a lively, collaborative atmosphere. Responsibilities include:

  • Teaching food preparation according to recipes, and continuously improving cuisine quality.
  • Training, developing, and motivating culinary staff and supervisors, setting and monitoring performance standards.
  • Making sound financial decisions, demonstrating honesty, and leading by example.
  • Providing exceptional service to enhance customer satisfaction and retention.
  • Reviewing staffing levels to meet guest service, operational, and financial goals.
  • Involving in menu development and maintaining accurate dish costing.
  • Designing food presentation and decorative displays.
  • Ensuring compliance with food safety and sanitation standards.
  • Maintaining kitchen equipment in accordance with health standards.
  • Enforcing safety procedures and hygiene standards among kitchen staff.
  • Managing food handling certifications for kitchen employees.
  • Engaging with guests and reviewing feedback for continuous improvement.
  • Maintaining quality in food receiving, storage, production, and presentation.
  • Discussing food cost reports with team members.
  • Hiring new kitchen staff.

Qualifications:

  • Culinary degree or equivalent experience, or 5 years in food and beverage with 3 years in banquet management.
  • Experience in controlling expenses and managing food costs.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure with a positive attitude and professional demeanor.

  • Salary: $85,000 - $100,000
