Job Summary and Qualifications

Under the supervision of the Nutritional Services Director, the Executive Chef will perform duties related to food preparation, cooking, and service for patients, cafeteria, doctors’ dining room, and catering, using creative, health-conscious techniques, recipes, menus, and presentation.

• Responsible for food preparation for patients, cafeteria, doctors’ dining, and special requests.
• Develops and enforces standards for sanitation, hygiene, and food handling in compliance with hospital, local, state, and federal regulations.
• Ensures proper portion control, presentation, and garnishing.
• Maintains safety awareness to prevent hazards such as faulty equipment or spills, reporting issues immediately.

Qualifications needed:

• Culinary Certification
• High school diploma or GED
• Associates or Technical degree from Culinary Institute
• One year healthcare food service experience preferred
• Three to five years food service management experience preferred
• ServSafe Certified Food Protection Manager
• Municipality of Anchorage Food Handler Card
